A male at the General Yoga Class -"I must thank you for the last 2 sessions on "Go with the Flow", its has been a great help to me during a very stressful and busy time in work.
I have always enjoyed your classes, but I think
I am now starting to appreciate all the hard work you put in, and the changes
that both myself and other people have seen in me.
I will be very honest and say that taking up yoga and especially attending your
class has been the best thing I have done in a very long time.
I look forward to spending many years learning as much as I can from you, and
I know I will become a better and healthier person for the experience!"
From a student about her second pregnancy
and birth experience..."It was a much calmer experience this
time. I continued with yoga daily from 33 weeks in small amounts until the very
day she was born and have to say the breathing really helped me! It was an extremely
quick birth starting at 11.30pm, she was born at 3.30am. Unfortunately there
was little restbite between contractions once they started and I was unable
to use the yoga positions after the first hour. She pooped on the way down so
they strapped me to a monitor for the second stage which limited my position.
I gave birth sat up and slightly to the side, it was hard to deliver this way
but still over with very quickly.
The yoga breathing without a doubt allowed me to use the gas and air to relax,
I was not using the gas and air through the last part of the contractions but
breathing through it and concentrating on the outbreath. I felt very in control
to the point that I knew exactly when I had fully dilated without examination
and told the midwife it was time for me to start pushing and it was exactly
right.
Thank you very much for the classes. I'm looking forward to Post-Natal yoga"
First Time Mother, 7 days over-due shares her birth experience
- "Contractions began around 2.30pm, but did not get serious until
11.30pm. I used the birthing pool which I never imagined to do, it was a wonderful
experience. The yoga position that helped the most was shifting my weight from
one leg to the other. During labor all I could hear in the back of my head was
"focus on the exhale", it helped so much with the oxygen. I wonder
if I did not get queasy because I was doing proper exhaling. Just like to you
keep repeating, the whole experience is a positive one. Thank you for your advice,
guidance and support."
Second time mother, who practised yoga during both pregnancies, attending
my classes - .... "1 hour 20 mins active labour. 2 pushes
and she was out, born in her membranes. All thanks to yoga. Liked figure of
8. Yoga has been invaluable."
